We are concerned more with self-expression than commercial considerations (though, we love to make money and get successful hits). We are involve with people in the scene: bands, labels, nights and zines. We have an internationalist outlook, which stems from a sense of solidarity with other fans, bands and labels in other countries who share our sensibilities; we help organize gigs and often provide accommodation and other support. In addition, we have a strong sense of camaraderie that emerges from a selflessness among indie bands and often results in collaborations and joint tours.

Our artists of any particular time often go against the prevailing trends. Even when we love a 'lo-fi' aesthetic, we work pretty hard in polishing recordings and getting the top commercial music industry standards
